Terra,
I know ya'll will have lots of fun. Wish I could be there. You are a good friend. She will enjoy the whole day & should be nice and tired by the end of the day. She'll talk about this for a long time. Enjoy your blessings, girlfriend.

Sandra,

Thanks so much for your input. Just FYI. The private dances were going to be "private" where you could take your mate to a dance room and show what you learned. However, I have decided not to do that.

This is going to be an ALL DAY OUTING, she is couped up in the house due to illness and really wants to get out and about. A few of my sister-in-laws girlfriends will be coming in from out-of-town. And, they have not seen each other in about a year or more. My friend who owns the dance studio is going to host a passion party and teach a pole dance as well as a chair dance (2-3 hours). I'm still working out the final details. But I know my sister in law will definitely LOVE the dance classes and the passion party. I'll let you know what I decide soon.

BTW: I have visited your site. Looks like you have a BALL!

Terra,
It seems that it would not be fair to everyone in the group does not have an partner at the event. The single women may not feel comfortable dancing in front of married men or the opposite may occur where married women may not want single women dancing in front of their husbands. You should probably keep it strictly a woman event. I think the pole dance class or a stripper class is a good one w/ boas. You can probably go on craigslist and find a pole dance teacher at reasonable prices or you can go to Boarders or Barnes & Nobles and get a dvd on pole dance workout or stripper workout (more economical). How many hours are you planning? The time is going to fly by.

You can do a girls night in: go to Dollar Tree get foot pans, marbles, epsom salt, powder milk, lotions, polish, oatmeal, honey, chammoile tea bags, cucumbers, headbands, fake eyelashes, smoothie bar/spa drinks, Chocolate Fountain w/ chocolate, fruit, cookies, pretzels, lemonade, marshmellows, FairFare: popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, slushees, Dream Boards, Teapot Service, Finger Sandwiches, Pot Luck, go to Trader Joes (get some California Rolls or Sushi), Karaoke, a Roaming Massage Therapist (pay for 1 or 2 hours), invite a Sex Therapist, wigs, hair pieces & extensions, disposable cameras &/or camcorder.

Have Girls Night In. Have everyone come in PJs (or lingerie or workout clothes), bring a robe & Red Carpet Item. You could do a Spa Party w/ Pole/Stripper class & dress up and take pictures. Set-up stations: facial, pedicures, manicures, make-up, hair stations. Give everyone 2 or 3 cameras to take photos thru out the night. Dress up and have a fashion show. Have your spa drinks, pot luck (spa type foods), chocolate fountain w/ desserts.
Facial Station: yogurt plain/fruited, honey, oatmeal, tea bags, cucumbers.
Pedicures: foot pans, marbles (like getting a massage when you roll your feet back and forth), epsom salt, powdered milk, cocoa, lotion, body butter, peppermint essential oil (health food store)
Manicures: small bowl, powdered milk, regular milk, lotion, polish, remover, african pride oil (at family dollar $2.50) put on cuticles and feet, have them partner up and massage each others hands, paint partners hands.
Make-up: have each person bring make up
Hair Stations: have each person bring wigs, extensions, hair accessories
This event will be for them to play and have fun. When I do parties like this they have so much fun and talk about it for a long time. Good luck with whatever choices you make. Check out my sight for more ideas: www.freewebs.com/divaspoilers

Okay.. I am putting together an outing for my sister-in law who is turning 40. Funds are extremely low :-(. There will be about 5 or 6 females. I was thinking about getting a limo (good discount from a friend), going to a Japanese Restaurant (her favorite). Followed by cocktails and dessert at another friends new dance studio. I plan on getting feather boas and other decorations for the dance studio. Then we will have a chair/pole dance class. I thought about inviting significant others to join us at the studio for more cocktails at the end and get their own private dances. But a couple of the women are single. Any other ideas on how to spruce this up? Do you think we should take in a movie before dinner?
